Blixt is Swedish for Flash! I need to build this car to live up to its name.
After jumping around a bit I have finally settled on keeping my 96 850 T5 wagon. I found this locally owned by a Volvo mechanic's son. He had owned the car for about 4 months and in that time had done the following: Timing belt & tensioner, water pump, drive belt & tensioner, Plugs / Wires / Cap and Rotor, Colant expansion tank, all fluids, re-die interior, new headliner, etc! This car is the cleanest, smoothest running 850 I have seen in a long time. I have owned a '96 GLT n/a wagon, an '05 V70R and now this 850 turbo.
My plan will be to make this a stylish, 275 hp, 30 MPG cruiser. I drive a ton of miles in traffic so I am stuck keeping the auto for the time being. I will keep this thread updated as I put this car together.
My plan in the short term is:
Remove and replace tint
Vinyl the roof (the clear is starting to fail)
Vinyl the pilars
Wheels / Tires
Suspension (what budget for a moderate drop?)
Tune (ARD Green to start)
Plasti dip grill
