For spring break I drove from Durango up to Denver, back and forth from Denver to Idaho Springs, then to Salt Lake City, and back to Durango. I totaled almost 1700 miles and rolled 310k on the way back as well!
Such a killer trip of snowboarding and such but I had a little altercation with a small piece of 2x4 that got flung at my car on an ill-maintaned stretch of I-70 only 1/2 mile before my exit in SLC coming back from Park City last Thursday. There was tight traffic and the Rav4 in front of me with all its ground clearance decided to hit the 2x4 with its tires and throw it at me.
Cosmetically, my paint got f'd, the valence passenger side grille got knocked out, and the center valence piece got mangled too. Even worse, the board made its way under the car where it hit a feeder hose to the radiator (creating a coolant leak) and the rear of the oil pan (creating an oil leak). There's also a thankfully not too deep gash in the gas tank where it hit on its way out the back.
The car still runs like a top, I just have to monitor the fluids. I'm in the process of sorting it out.
