Hi there, just thought i would introduce myself. Bought my third volvo today, and this one needs some engine work or replacement so this looks like the place to gather some much needed intel.
After owning my first Volvo, a 960 ambassador, i got hooked. Great quality and a bit more class than most bmw's or mercedes.
I know everyone on a car forum loves photos so...
3.0 liter 6 cilinder, not that much power but pretty smooth for its age.
Great seats, shitty ac, and a shitload of wood.
Then upgraded to a v70 t5 from 2001 on lpg. Been driving it for 20k miles last 6 months without any issues.
Bought the car cheap with some suspension issues. Replaced almost everything up front, shocks, coils, arms, bushings etc, now its great to eat miles everyday.
But there was always the dream car. A V70R in gray metallic with 18inch pegasus rims and a contrasting interior. A used one with 120K on it is around 12.000 euros around these parts (Netherlands). But today i came across one that has some weird engine problem (topic to follow). Rest seems solid so i took a risc, bought the car pretty cheap, so even if it needs a new engine its much cheaper than buying a proper one ![:)]()
